Youtube has changed our medium of entertainment to a certain extent. Before it came about, it was hard for people to watch videos online as they often have to apply for a license or download it illegally before being able to watch it. There were little or limited ways for people to watch and share leisure videos. People had to watch them on television or buy the whole drama series on VCD or DVD from shops.
However, thanks to emergence of Youtube, we now have the privilege of watching videos online. Youtube, founded in 2006, is popular as it allows people to watch videos online without having to download any software or to register and takes a short time to load, thus making it easy to use and efficient.
As a result, it has changed our medium of entertainment as people are now able to enjoy videos or catch up with their favourite drama serials or variety shows or movies online, and no longer have to sit in front of the dull square screen of the television. It has also show from ratings and statistics that less people are tuning in to television shows and are instead catching them online on Youtube.
Acknowledging this fact, i feel that the emergence of Youtube has changed the medium of our entertainment to a certain and significant extent.
