Views on Child Prostitution

Last Thursday, our GP teacher, Mr Zheng showed us a video on the issue of child prostitution. It was really quite horrible as i then know how many people in the world, some even as young as 7 or 8, are being forced into the business of child prostitution to earn money for themselves or for the family. In the video, we can see how many women are bveing forced into the business unwillingly.
I was unaware to this increasing trend of child prostitution in under developed countries. How could anyone be so desperate to want to have sex with children whom have barely even reach their teens? In those countries, people are poor and thus need money to survive but to go to these lengths to earn money is totally immoral! Also, the people masterminding this business are very smart to prey on these people, to get the cheap labour they want so that they can profit more from this business. But i feel these sex prostitutes should not be giving up on themselves and having to reduce themselves to this pitiful state to earn money. Instead, they have hands and legs and are completely healthy, thus they should go out and find jobs. True, jobs there may not pay well but at least it is a down-to-earth way to earn money and a rightful one at that.
At that, I also hope that certain governments and world organisations should look into this matter and discuss ways in which they can improve the standard of living there and wipe out the disgusting and immoral child prostitution which is common there. Children can also be more educated in such areas so that they would not be easily deceived into such businesses. In my opinion, we should all learn to cherish ourselves.
